SYDNEY, Aug 28 AAP - Premier Sydney jockey Nash Rawiller will
miss some plum spring rides after being outed for causing
interference in Saturday's Group One Golden Rose.
Rawiller finished second on Squamosa but his efforts to get to
the front in the early part of the race caused interference to
four horses as he came across approaching the first turn.
"I concede it doesn't look good, it was a terrible error in
judgment," Rawiller said.
The jockey was outed for nine meetings which takes in the Theo
Marks Stakes and Gloaming Stakes fixtures.
But Rawiller is free to ride Theseo in next Saturday's
Chelmsford Stakes with the ban to start after that meeting.
Crystal Lily, Gybe, Run For Levi and Chance Bye copped the worst
of the incident.
Chance Bye was pushed sideways and cut through a protective boot
she had recently begun to wear to negate the effects of her
habit of striking herself while galloping.
The race was won by Toorak Toff who gathered in Squamosa inside
the final 100 metres.
