SYDNEY, Aug 28 AAP - Comeback galloper Reward For Effort has continued to support trainer Peter Moody's belief he is the best sprinter in the country with a scintillating victory in the Group Three Concorde Stakes.

Moody opted to bring the entire to Rosehill rather than remain in Melbourne where the track was wet and he delivered in devastating style, beating Winter King by two lengths.

The winner of the 2009 Blue Diamond Stakes, Reward For Effort was off the scene for more than a year recovering from a suspensory injury but signalled his return with a narrow victory in last month's Monash Stakes.

"He's going super and I think he's the best sprinter in the land," Moody said.

"It's a pity he missed 12 months.

"He has always been a good colt and he could have won the Golden Slipper on a dry track.

"We just have to keep him in one piece now.

"The plan is to go to the Manikato and get another Group One with him.

"But the Manikato and everything depends on the track, he doesn't handle the wet tracks."

Nash Rawiller tried to get an easy lead on Reward For Effort ($3.60 fav) but Winter King ($8.50) stuck to his inside for the first part of the 1100m dash.

Reward For Effort got the upper hand over Winter King but the latter stuck to his task gamely to claim second.

Trusting ($7.50) came from last on the turn for third ahead of Montana Flyer.

"He is a very exciting galloper," Rawiller said.

"He did it pretty easily and has an electric turn of foot.

"Winter King didn't concern me, my horse is pretty special.

Trainer John Thompson said he was pleased with the effort of Trusting.

"It was super, I'm very happy," he said.

"He's not an 1100-metre horse anymore and is looking for 1400 to a mile (1600m).

"He will go on to the Cameron Handicap at Newcastle or the Theo Marks before tackling the George Main Stakes."
